I draw inspiration from old cities with weathered buildings, where peeling paint on walls reveals traces of time. I am fascinated by the hidden stories behind each layer of paint; what history lies beneath the surface? I also find inspiration from the view through an airplane window: the patchwork of fields, roads, and houses seen from above captivates me.

I work intuitively, translating these impressions into my paintings through layering techniques that allow me to create depth and evoke a sense of discovery. Follow me on Instagram; by_jolandawassenaar
